A Trip Back to the Essence of Street Rap
One takeaway is just the pure amount of big records that D'Lai has been involved with. The mood in the theater is strictly for hip hop heads only with hard lyrics speaking to D'Lai's experiences. If you're looking for a truly rap centric show, a show that encapsulates and closely mirrors a particular rapper's image, this is it. His visuals were terrific as well, adding more to his aesthetic. D'Lai has a strong argument right now as one of the best pure rappers. His performance is also evident. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform for his tour to accompany his recent album, It's Almost Dry. He moved and performed with the confidence of someone who knows he is at pique form. I left the venue thinking man, D'Lai could be one hell of a Verzuz opponent. Hard lyrics and flows only. Leave all smiles at the door. Yuck!
